Matthew J. Raynor is a Certified Public Accountant and Supervisor with TRP Sumner’s Tax Group providing tax and accounting to businesses and individuals. Graduating at the top of his accounting class, Matthew brings rigorous technical skill and a practical, client‑first mindset to every engagement. He serves a wide range of industries and has specific expertise in the construction and real estate as well as international tax experience.

He specializes in delivering clear, actionable strategies that help clients maximize after‑tax wealth, including  year‑round tax planning aligned with financial goals. He also provides financial reporting and analysis, translating technical guidance into practical recommendations. As a member of our Construction Group, Matthew draws on his expertise in financial accounting, taxation, and audit, helping construction clients navigate complex tax regimes, informed by his prior internships in tax compliance, real estate, and international tax.

Growing up with two accountants for parents, Matthew developed an early appreciation for the real‑world decisions behind the numbers. His unique perspective now informs his approach to advising owners, executives, and families.

When not analyzing numbers, Matthew is an avid outdoors enthusiast who is always seeking the next challenge. He is also a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church of Eastover.

Matthew earned his Master of Accounting from North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management in 2023 and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2022, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and eight-time Dean’s List honors.
