Brent has more than 50 years experience providing professional financial and business guidance to clients in a multitude of various industries. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in accounting from East Carolina University. Brent, along with David McFadyen, was one of the founding partners in McFadyen and Sumner CPAs, a long standing and successful firm serving clients in southeastern North Carolina.

In 2020, McFadyen and Sumner merged with TRP CPAs to form the now existing TRP Sumner PLLC. Brent is still actively participating in the firm, but with some occasional well-earned time off outside of busy season! If you know Brent, you know he loves what he does. “I just enjoy going to work every day,” he’ll tell you enthusiastically!

Brent is also very enthusiastic about giving back to the community and has served on the boards of many community non-profits and business organizations in the Fayetteville area. “By working with these organizations, I can help make our community a better place to live, work and play,” he says.

In his spare time, Brent may be found on the golf course or enjoying time with family.
