Jane Lanier is a Partner at TRP Sumner and serves as the firm’s Tax Director, leading the strategy, execution, and technical direction of the firm’s tax practice. With more than 20 years of experience, she is a trusted authority on complex, high-impact tax matters, delivering comprehensive tax planning and advisory solutions that enable privately held businesses and business owners to mitigate risk, optimize outcomes, and plan with confidence.

As Tax Director, Jane oversees the strategy and performance of the firm’s tax service line, setting rigorous standards and ensuring consistent execution amid evolving tax laws and regulations. She advances key strategic initiatives, strengthens operational effectiveness, and aligns talent and resources to deliver high-quality results across engagements. She also serves on the firm’s Tax Policy Committee, contributing to the evaluation of legislative developments and guiding the firm’s strategic policy response.

Her approach is deliberate and hands-on at a strategic level, advising on critical issues, setting engagement direction, and maintaining consistency and quality throughout the service lifecycle. Jane’s leadership ensures every engagement is executed with precision, efficiency, and an uncompromising focus on delivering measurable value to clients.

Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending quality time with her family. She is also actively involved in her church, where she teaches a preschool Sunday School class.
